PROGRAM POLICIES:
1) Canceling your registration before the first class of the session: You may cancel your registration any time before the first class and receive a refund. (Please note that if you paid online with PayPal a $6 fee will be held).
Canceling your registration after the first class of the session: Tuition is refundable up to 24 hours after the first class of the session, no questions asked. Material fee ($37) for opened materials and a $16 processing fee will be held. After this 24 hour period, no refunds can be given. This is regardless of whether you attended the first class or not. Before registering, please think carefully about your child's nap schedule and if the class time you sign up for is compatible. Please understand that we can not give refunds for reasons such as nap time conflicts or other scheduling difficulties. If you wish to switch into a different class time after you register or after the start of the session you may do so provided there is space in the class you wish to switch to. Your registration is not transferable to another Music Together center.
2) Making up missed classes: No refunds or credits will be given for missed classes. You may make-up to 3 missed classes per session: Make-ups may be taken at any other classes (at either location) that Music Together with Debbi offers during the session that you are registered in provided there is space available. If there are no other classes being offered at your location besides the class you are registered in, the only option would be to attend a make- up at the other location. Make-ups are offered as a courtesy and are in no way a guarenteed part of your enrollment. No refunds or credits will be given for missed make-up classes that you scheduled. Make-ups do not carry over to the next session. If, after scheduling a make-up, you find you can not do it, you may cancel the scheduled make-up ahead of time. If you miss your make-up due to illness you can contact Debbi and your scheduled make-up will be deleted. To schedule or cancel a make-up class you must go to the online makeup scheduler. Click the following link: "http://makeups.musictogether.com/ You will need a password: the password is "singallday". If you are having trouble scheduling your make-up online, please email me or call (415) 258-4830. We suggest you schedule your make-ups early in the session as there are a limited number of make-up slots available in each class. If you know ahead of time that you will be missing a class later in the session you may schedule and attend a make-up before the missed class. If you schedule a make-up and then decide you wil be unable to attend, please use the online make-up scheduling system to cancel your make-up so that the spot is available to another family. Since there are limited number of make up slots available, we really appreciate your consideration and cooperation with this.
3) It is essential that adults participate in class by singing, moving, playing instruments, following the teacher and actively engaging/focusing on their child. Modeling the musical behavior and participation for your child will usually make them want to do it too!
4) Please keep talking and socializing to before and after class. We have the rest of the day and week to talk. Chatting during class is discouraged- we do our best to create a musical 45 minutes for children and their parents, and our emphasis is placed on the relationship between parent and child, not child/child (or parent/parent). It is not a playgroup atmosphere!
5) We do not expect or require that children sit with their parents for the whole class. Children are free to move about and explore the room and are encouraged to move in lots of ways. However, we try to discourage running for safety reasons. THE SAFETY OF ALL CHILDREN IS A PRIORITY. Parents & caregivers are responsible for the behavior of their children. You must be ready to re-direct if your child or children attending with you engages in any behavior that is unsafe to themselves or anyone else or is causing or contributing to class disruption. Usually the more the child's parent or caregiver participates in the class activities, the more engaged the child is. If your child is consistently behaving in a way that presents a safety issue for other children in the classroom (ie hitting, biting, pushing, throwing things or running wildly), please take your child out of the room for a moment until the behavior is resolved. If the behavior persists, Debbi will contact you and discuss options. This may result in refunding the remaining portion of your tuition (minus the $37 materials fee).
6) Food is not allowed during class, as it can be a distraction to other children as well as possibly causing allergy or clean-up problems. Please make sure your child has eaten before class. Bottles, breastfeeding and no-spill sippy cups are fine, especially during lullaby time. If your or your chid must eat during class, please step completely out of the classroom and put all food away before returning.
7) If you or your child are not feeling well and you think you may be contagious, please do not come to class. You may attend up to 3 make-up classes each session on other days that Music Together with Debbi is offered, at either the Sonoma and Novato locations. Please see above (item #2) for more information regarding make-up classes.
8) Please bring socks to class (adults and children). Wearing socks helps to keep our floor mats clean. Our floors can be somewaht slippery so you may find it helpful to wear non- slip socks. Please remove shoes (adults & children) before going onto our mats. Thanks for your cooperation!
9) Please leave toys at home or in the car, as they can be distracting to your child and other children during class.
10) Please turn off cell phones and refrain from using them during class. Doctors "on call" may switch cell phone or pager onto vibrate. If you must answer an urgent call please step completely out of the room.
11) GUESTS AND VISITORS
Any number of adults are welcome to attend class at no charge with the registered family. You do not need to let me know in advance when other adults attend unless it’s an extraordinarily large group. Please inform your guests that we expect them to participate to the best of their ability and not to chit- chat during class!
Siblings under 8 months old at time of registration may attend all classes for free when attending with their registered sibling.
Siblings and other child guests of the registered family may attend the occasional class with registered family if space permits.
If there is room we do not charge for the occasional visiting child, however a contribution to our scholarship fund, in a denomination of your choosing, is greatly appreciated. More information about our scholarship fund can be found on the registration page.
Please do not show up with an unregistered child without checking first to s ee if there is room for your guest. Please check beforehand by emailing debbibuegeleisen@comcast.net or calling (415) 258-4830. Please call or email by the evening before your class. Phone calls and emails made on the same morning as class will not be received in time. Space is limited in classes and if you do not check first to see if there is room for your guest they may be turned away.
Any child attending class on a regular basis must be registered.
Thank you for reading the above important program policies!
